BMW vs. Audi

As you may know – I love it when brands talk to each other in public or out in the open.

I recently found another great example at 37 Signals in which Audi posted an outdoor out of home billboard and a local BMW dealer responded with their own message.

It seems like game over.

Fast four-doors have been around forever, but the Audi S6 provides an enticing mix of people-friendly room, blistering speed all-weather traction and brand-name cachet masini de inchiriat
  • I like that, it's really smart. I love creative advertising.
  • I know I'm late to the game here, but I love this juxtaposition. Smart advertising is the best!

There is an R8 follow up. I got an email silver R8 - PWNED.
  • I have one word for the BMW Dealer in Santa Monica: Win. Great use of tongue in cheek advertising.
  • I agree - not sure what you can do if you are Audi
  • They need an R8 billboard ;)
  • Not sure people would get it - its about apples to apples comparisons.

If a 6 year old child was driving the BMW then maybe. Also, since when is Audi AWD? Quattro is strictly 4-Wheel Drive and BMW has several AWD vehicles. And the only time an Audi has beaten a BMW around any sort of track was in a Gran Turismo video game.
  • The audi is AWD - is the BMW? Quattro is a pretty slick system (I used to drive an audi) - yeah the BMW is a bit quicker off the line, but on a roadcourse the audi would eat the BMW alive. BTW - the new RS8 is pretty slick (I was actually lucky and got to ride in 1/10 of the only ones in the country). BMW won't be able to counter that.
