I had the opportunity to visit the live blogging event put on by SportsFanLive.com during the Olympics with a friend who recently helped launch the site. SportsFanLive.com gives you the ability to follow the teams you love, and even the ones you don’t, alongside friends within a social network. The site allows you to see where other fans are watching the game nearby and track the latest happenings with your teams. For someone who likes watching sports with other fans in NYC, this site answers the question of “where is the nearest ______ bar” where the blank can be your favorite team from back home, your college, or any other random team imaginable. You can friend me at my profile here.

They have gotten some great launch coverage recently such as the SportsFanLive article in the NYTimes and the SFL coverage on TechCrunch and they are off to a big start.

To further kickoff the launch they had a live blogging event during the Olympics in which a team of bloggers covered events 24 hours a day at a bar on the upper east side in NYC.
