I just finished watching the WWDC keynote presentation given by Steve Jobs, and as always, I am blown away by his ability to present. I recommend that everyone that ever has to present or speak in public watch this keynote, and previous keynotes, to get an idea of how to get complex information across to an audience by someone who makes it look easy. It feels like a 1:1 conversation which is an art and rare in the world of canned powerpoint presentations. If you have not already – checkout the latest on the iPhone.

A few notes from the Keynote presentation(s)
iPhone 2.0 feature set seems like a big upgrade.
4,000 Beta participants – this seems low for a co. like Apple
Enterprise compatibility out of the box is key – lots of Enterprise participation
Remote wipeout of iPhone if you lose it (I have not heard of this feature before on any device – why isn’t this in laptops?)
Having companies discuss their thoughts on the beta program was a nice touch
The Sega iPhone games utilizing the accelerometer makes me think of a Wii controller. How about a $199 Wii controller that can also make calls, play movies, and browse the web?
Someone should make an Ebay app that uses the accelerometer
Location based apps are definitely going to be an interesting play soon for the iPhone – Loopt
TypePad integration looks cool (too bad there is no WordPress integration)
SDK for game dev and porting seems like it is greasing the wheels to get things up on the app store quickly
MLB.com integration of live clips is “cool” but could be substituted for any service providing live video streaming downloads
Medical programs for the iPhone will be the standard for future flash cards in every subject
Background applications or passive applications points are all strong; battery life, performance. Comparisons to Windows mobile to prove this point were well founded
Apple Push Notification service feels like the new wireless walled garden to me…
Feature support is great; languages, bulk editing, office docs editing (both iWork and MS Office)
Applause for “flush headphone jack” made me laugh
Browser demo silence delivered the Edge vs. 3G impact
Price point at $199 puts the iPhone as the phone to beat
White iPhone option at a higher price point is a good idea
Given all the writeups and hints about what was coming from the WWDC keynote I am impressed with what was already known about the iPhone. From the articles about container ships, leaks about the firmware, and all the other stories I would say that most of the information about the iPhone 3G was already known
