New Google Definitions?

While doing some searches for a recent Marketing.fm article on Joost I came across a feature I have never seen before in Google:

what is joost

this is the typical definition format I am used to seeing:

what is marketing

Has anyone else seen this change? If not it is a clear step in the evolution of smart search results that answer these types of queries.

No, this isn’t a new addition to google. It’s a feature that’s been there for somewhere in excess of a year. I suppose that you just haven’t used the relevent search term.
A more direct way to get a definition is to prefix the search term with define:, i.e. define:love, which will draw several definitions from a number of dictionaries and websites.

Nathan – I am familiar with the “define:” prefix – this was the actual definition with the word itself linking back to wikipedia vs the url under the definition. The typical definition string also brings back the book logo – obviously not present in my screen shot.
