I was watching Grey’s Anatomy on ABC.com last night. All shows are free with only 3 commercial breaks throughout the duration. Last week’s episode was sponsored by Sears. In addition to the company logo at the top of the page, all of the commercial breaks were for Sears products.
I was intrigued by their message: Sears is offering to beat anyone’s price for appliances – and you can purchase the best price online. That’s pretty awesome. Even better, next to the video stream, there are links to the online store where you can search or compare instantly. This is what the future of television commercials should look like. I’m not in the market for a dishwasher but I would have clicked on the link after the show if I was. I will however, remember the service from Sears.
