Computers.net points us to offers from Google, Microsoft, Ask, and Looksmart offering up different SEM opportunities this holiday season for free ads. Some offers require new signups and minimal fees all in hopes of converting these customers into long term users.
Since the costs to enter the SEM market are so minimal and you basically get paid to sign up I am wondering how more online marketers are not taking advantage of this offer. I can only assume that a serious SEM advertiser either already has an account with one or more of these services, or very small companies would use the offer and not return. The real goal of course is to allow these “free” SEM dollars to turn into real conversions, sales, or signups for each new user and show the power of search and a positive ROI resulting in long lasting monthly paying customers.

Most offers expire soon and it is likely these deals will not stay the same forever. Let me know if you have any good or bad experience in signing up for new SEM services.
