Magazine Subscription Delays

I recently subscribed to Fast Company magazine online. The whole process took about three minutes. At the end of the process, I was told that I should receive my first copy in 6-8 weeks.

Why does it take so long to receive a magazine subscription in this day and age? Shouldn’t they be able to process that request faster?

Magazine customer service should immediately send new subscribers a copy of the current issue and ensure prompt delivery of the next one.

Pardon the brief rant but at a time when the print industry is struggling to keep its subscriber base, it would be great to see some improvements.
