Difference between online and print

As written up quite well by Ed Kohler over at technology evangelist

While print advertising involves selling squares on paper, online advertising collects revenue generated by ad impressions, clicks, or sales generated by web pages over time.

Although I shy away from straight re-publishing of information, Ed did an excellent job of summarizing the differences and thought it was worth sharing here.
