What Ogilvy Employees are reading – or should be.

Ogilvy Feeds
Here is what Ogilvy thinks would be good reading. Its nice to see at least some big companies are trying to influence what their employees are reading. I am trying to shy away from forming an opinion on this until I get some information about whether or not this is an internal initiative (employees are told about this list and encouraged to read the feeds) or if this is a PR external landing page to show some insight into the company. If anyone has any info – please share it here.

    Eric,
Thanks for reading and commenting. This effort was initially launched within our Digital Influence team as a guide to help our teammates get a quick snapshot of influential blogs in a variety of categories. Some weeks later, we also unveiled this as the We Media forum in NY (Oct, 05) as an external tool – mainly to help our clients have a useful entry point into the blogosphere. My original post about the launch of the Blogfeeds is available here: http://rohitbhargava.typepad.com/weblog/2005/10/ogilvy_pr_blogf.html. Over time, it has grown into both an extremely useful internal resource, as well as an external client tool that we use to get client to start reading blogs and understanding the world of new media.

    Rohit,

Thanks for the explanation. I like the idea of a “digital influence” team. I find these types of initiatives extremely helpfull because it shows acceptance within the company of a new technology that might otherwise be thought of as risque due to IT compliance. (esp. at a large firm)

I took a look at the handout too…good stuff. Subscribed!
